Privacy policy

Pichyn is operated by Chaitanaya Kusumakar as a sole proprietorship based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India (“Pichyn”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use pichyn.com and app.pichyn.com, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. It is written for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

We do not collect payment details, Aadhaar, PAN or your contacts, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Who can see what
- Your application is seen only by you and the Pichyn review team.
- A startup profile, its videos and posts are seen by approved founders and verified investors once the startup is live. Profiles are not public on the web and not indexed by search engines.
- An investor's saves, passes, pipeline, notes and private comments are never shown to other investors. A private comment or message is seen only by that investor, that startup's founders and the Pichyn team when needed for safety.
- Founders' weekly stats are seen only by that startup's founders.
- During the pilot, videos are hosted on YouTube as unlisted videos. Anyone who has a video's direct link can watch it, under YouTube's own terms.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase (sign-in, database and hosting, with data stored in Google Cloud's Mumbai region), YouTube (video playback) and Cloudflare (domain, website delivery and email forwarding). They process data on our behalf to run Pichyn. We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we hide your profile within 48 hours and delete your personal data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep, such as security logs kept for 180 days. Usage events may be kept in a form that no longer identifies you.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it; withdraw your consent; nominate someone to exercise these rights for you; and complain to our grievance officer and, after that, to the Data Protection Board of India. Write to privacy@pichyn.com. We reply within 15 days.
Age
Pichyn is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
Security
Access to data is controlled by database rules that are tested automatically before every release. Only the Pichyn team can see applications and usage events. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
